Apparently, the activities of the oligarchs are more visible abroad than in Bulgaria. It is our investigative bodies and law-enforcement authorities that are diminished, Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev said in the town of Stara Zagora in connection with the international investigation "Pandora Papers" and the information that former MP Delyan Peevski was affiliated to offshore companies.

Rumen Radev voiced expectations that corruption would be completely eradicated after the Presidential elections. Rumen Radev who is running for a second term in office expects "a campaign of ideas, not political mud-slinging."

“The raised fist unites people around values”, President Radev said in response to a question whether his raised fist at the beginning of the anti-government protests in 2020 was divisive.
