As of 1 October Gazprom is halting the transiting of national gas for Hungary and Croatia via the territory of Ukraine, and is redirecting the delivery along the Balkan Stream pipeline. Until today natural gas from Russia reached Hungary across the territory of Ukraine.

As of today the transit will be via Turkey, Bulgaria and Serbia, as stipulated by the new 15-year contract signed between Gazprom and the Hungarian MVM Group on 27 September in Budapest, BNR’s correspondent in Moscow reports.
