The business environment in Bulgaria has deteriorated further. "The retail price of electricity for households is lower than the wholesale electricity prices for the industry, while in Europe the average retail price of electricity for households/ wholesale price for the industry ratio is the opposite", added Vasil Velev. 

In his view, the coal industries should be replaced by photovoltaics. "However, Bulgaria may lose European co-financing for this transition if it continues to delay its Recovery and Resilience Plan", Vasil Velev said. In the coming years, this country’s labor market will continue to lose 40 thousand people on an annual basis, the President of BICA predicted.
