Software used in census has no security certificate

The population census software has not been certified for network and information security, Krasimir Simonski of the State e-Government Agency says. The National Statistical Institute said hacker attacks were the reason behind difficulties in the electronic census.

Krasimir Simonski also said that the public procurement for the system cost the state 1.3 million euros. That is why the MPs from the parliamentary committee on digitization were surprised by the fact that no checks were made. Meanwhile, NSI officials are starting home visits to describe residential buildings, unoccupied apartments and to count households that have not done it electronically.
