Young Bulgarian tennis talent Pyotr Nesterov qualified for the eighth-finals of the US Open Junior Tennis Championships in New York. In the second round of the last Grand Slam championship for the year, the 18-year old player from Cherno More Elit defeated Alejandro Pertusa, Spain. Before that, at the start, Nesterov defeated Philip Florig, Germany. For a place in the quarter-finals Nesterov will be playing versus Jakub Mensik, Czechia.

For Pyotr this is the third time he is taking part in a major tournament in 2021 after Roland-Garros in Paris, where he reached the doubles semi-finals with partner Vyacheslav Bielinski from Ukraine, and Wimbledon in London where the two played in the eighth-finals.
