President Rumen Radev handed the third exploratory mandate for the formation of a government to “Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria”.

He pointed to several reasons why he chose the BSP. “Firstly, BSP is a party which embraces the values freedom, solidarity, justice,” the Bulgarian head of state said, and added that the left wing has kept its openness and readiness to hold dialogue in the efforts made so far to form a cabinet. “But the most important reasons are the thousands of honest socialists I know,” Rumen Radev said.

On her part the leader of “Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria” Korneliya Ninova declared that the coalition would make every effort to form a regular cabinet. “We shall try everything,” she said.

The BSP has until next Friday to present their nomination for prime minister to the President.

Later, the press center of the Bulgarian Socialist Party announced that the leader of the socialists Kornelia Ninova had sent invitations for talks to the three so-called parties of change. The Bulgarian Socialist Party will first meet with the coalition “Stand up BG! We are coming!” on August 29. A possible meeting with "Democratic Bulgaria" will be held on August 31. "There is Such a People" are invited to a meeting on September 1.
