Bulgaria reports 1,733 new Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations surge to 3,163

1,733 is the number of coronavirus cases reported in Bulgaria out of 23,298 tests performed over the past 24 hours, a positivity rate of 7.4%, Single Coronavirus Portal data show.

The highest number of new infections is in Sofia - 218, in Burgas - 186 and in Plovdiv - 179. The number of coronavirus patients who are being treated in hospital has surged to 3,163, of them 279 in intensive care. 34 people have died, 485 have recovered in the past day. The number of active cases is currently 26,007.

13,412 doses of vaccine have been administered in the past day, bringing the total number of vaccinations to 2,269,759. The number of people now fully vaccinated is 1,144,803.
