Bulgarian Road Safety Institute calls for efficient road control

The Road Safety Institute in Bulgaria has sent a request to the President and the caretaker Prime Minister for immediate measures against road accidents. Among the institute's proposals is for the Interior Ministry to change traffic control from static to dynamic and to build an average speed system across the country, which would cost about 2.5 million euros.

According to unconfirmed data from the Union of Bulgarian Motorists, 201 people died in accidents and 2,096 were injured in the first six months of the year. The festive month of May turned out to be the blackest with 56 deaths..
