Bulgaria’s Prosecutor General Ivan Geshev attened a hearing at the National Assembly Legal Affairs Committee over police violence against protesters during the 2020 anti-government protests. Ivan Geshev announced that he would submit a request to the Constitutional Court to declare Article 24 of the rules of organization and procedure of the National Assembly, which gives the MPs the right to invite the Prosecutor General to discuss the implementation of the law and the activities of the Prosecutor’s Office and the investigative bodies, unconstitutional.
