1,405 daily coronavirus infections, positivity rate surges to 6.4%

1,405 new Covid-19 cases have been registered in the country out of 21,906 tests performed in the past 24 hours, Single Coronavirus Information Portal data show. The coronavirus positivity rate is now 6.4% - 2% up from the previous day

The highest number of new infections is in Sofia - 315, in Burgas – 151 and in Plovdiv - 125.

Hospitalizations are also up – 1,832 are being treated in hospital, 160 of them in intensive care. 19 people have died, 160 have recovered. The number of active cases now stands at 16,983.

12,219 doses of vaccine have been administered in the past day bringing the vaccination tally to 2.1 million. 1,087,102 is the number of people now fully vaccinated in the country.
