The Ministry of Health needs an additional 214 million Leva for addressing the fourth Covid-19 wave. This is made clear by a report by Minister of Health Stoycho Katsarov.
According to estimates, 46 million Leva is needed to pay for the 1.5 million doses of vaccine ordered in April, 114 million Leva – for the additional payments to medical and non-medical staff, and for bonuses for front-line workers. Another 19 million Leva is needed so that GPs can administer vaccines.
The report draws the conclusion that a budget update is imperative.
