ITN party will not put its prospective cabinet to voting in plenary hall on Wednesday, announced the leader of “There is Such a People” party (ITN) Slavi Trifonov on his private TV channel and on Facebook.

“We did our best and made all types of compromises as a gesture to the so-called “parties of the protest”, so they can support the cabinet of the first political force- “There is Such a People”! It did not happen, because of the behavior and the betrayal of “Democratic Bulgaria” coalition and “Stand up BG! We are Coming” coalition, said Slavi Trifonov.

This means that Bulgaria is headеd toward new early general elections, because ITN will neither support the parties of the status quo, nor “Democratic Bulgaria” or “Stand up BG! We are Coming”, Slavi Trifonov pointed out.

The Bulgarian Presidency published a short comment after Slavi Trifonov's announcement: "Following the decree issued by this country’s head of state, the constitutional procedure for electing a Prime Minister is already in its decisive parliamentary phase."

According to constitutionalists, it is not Slavi Trifonov who should announce that ITN’s cabinet will not be put to voting. This should be done by the person nominated for Premier. A vote in the plenary hall must be held to complete the procedure, or the candidate for Prime Minister must make a statement from the Parliamentary rostrum that ITN party is relinquishing its government-forming mandate, which will then be considered unsuccessful.
