“We are having an excellent summer season with an 83% increase in the number of tourists compared to last year,” Minister of Tourism in the caretaker cabinet Stella Baltova said for Nova TV.
In her words the number of tourists coming to Bulgaria’s resorts is close to 3 million. The increase is due to the high sense of responsibility of the staff at eating and drinking establishments and hotels with regard to the anti-epidemic measures, as well as of the visitors who observe all travel and visiting rules.
The highest number of foreign tourists along the country’s Black Sea coast come from Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Czechia and Turkey. There are two quarantine hotels on the Black Sea coast – one on the northern and one on the southern portion of the coastline, and a third one is to start operating in Sofia. Minister Baltova stated that she was not happy with the number of people in the industry who have been vaccinated.
