MRF to ITN: There is no unconditional support

Most of the ideas of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and “There Is Such a People” (ITN) coincide, but there is no unconditional support. That was how MRF leader Mustafa Karadayi summed up the consultations between his party and “There Is Such a People”.  “We are not going to nominate cabinet ministers but who the members of the government will be matters,” he said.

One of the conditions the MRF set down for its support was “restoring normalcy in politics” so that “the state apparatus shall not be used as a bludgeon against citizens and businesses” but only in the service of the people and for creating a good business environment.

“We have not asked for support from them for a potential cabinet. We just set out our priorities. They stated that the individuals in the potential cabinet matter to them, we specified that that is our responsibility and that we shall not take advice from anyone,” said Toshko Yordanov from ITN, BNR’s Violeta Ashikova reports. This was the last in the series of consultations on the formation of a government with the mandate of “There Is Such a People”.

The meeting evoked a great deal of public interest after ITN invited the MRF for talks despite the categorically stated position by Democratic Bulgaria and “Stand Up, BG! We are coming!”, which ITN recognizes as partner formations, that they will not support a government with the involvement of GERB or MRF.
