Use of tear gas and of force by the police during the anti-government protests, wiretapping of protesters and politicians from the opposition – these will be in the focus of attention of the newly established National Assembly temporary committee which will look for evidence of these acts.

“Light must be shed on the communist-era-cum-mafia police style imposed by GERB and the Interior Ministry, and the culprits must get what they deserve,” said Toshko Yordanov from ITN (There Is Such a People).

MPs from GERB party proposed that the committee’s outreach include actions by protesters against police and illegal wiretapping by the caretaker cabinet during the period of election campaigning but their proposal was rejected.
