Stoeva sisters will be first Bulgarian athletes to compete at Tokyo Olympics

Two-times European badminton doubles champions Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva will be the first Bulgarian athletes to take part in the Tokyo Olympics.

They will start their participation early in the morning on Saturday, when, at 5.40 AM Bulgarian time they will play versus Kim So-yeong and Kong Hee-yong, Korea, who are in 5th position in the world rankings.

Bulgaria is represented in Tokyo by 42 competitors in 14 sports. Five-times Olympic medal holder, sport shooter Maria Grozdeva will be flag-bearer for the Bulgarian delegation at the opening ceremony of the Olympics.
