Photo: archive

As of 19 July Bulgaria is tightening anti-coronavirus border restrictions. More countries are being included in the red zone – Cyprus, Great Britain,Spain, Kuwait and Fiji. The restriction on arrivals from these countries, including children, will be in place until the end of July.

Bulgaria will not allow entry from these countries, with the exception of Bulgarian citizens or persons with permanent or long-term residence and members of their families. Arrivals from Great Britain, Spain and Cyprus will have to present a valid EU digital certificate of a negative PCR test, or a similar document containing the same data, whether they are vaccinated or not. Arrivals will be subject to a 10-day quarantine which can be lifted after a PCR test performed within 24 hours of arrival. Arrivals from Russia and Portugal are a separate category and are allowed entry into Bulgaria after presenting a valid digital Covid-19 certificate showing a negative result from a test performed up to 72 hours prior to entry into the country.
