Nikolay Vassilev: Bulgaria was about to have the most reform-minded cabinet

Bulgaria was about to have the most reform-minded cabinet, said Nikolay Vassilev at a press conference of "There is Such a People" party. Initially, Nikolay Vassilev was nominated for the position of Prime Minister of Bulgaria, but later ITN withdrew Vassilev’s nomination. "I am the only one who fired Delyan Peevski. I do not depend on the Movement for Rights and Freedoms or on any backstage players", added Nikolay Vassilev.

"I was going to propose a VAT reduction- from 20% to 18%. In my view, pensions should increase by 35%, but this must be achieved through economic growth. I was going to propose a sharp increase of the salaries of doctors, healthcare professionals, teachers and university professors, because the future of the nation depends on them. Slavi Trifonov, me and the leadership of ITN party selected the nominees for the prospective cabinet. No foreign embassies have anything to do with the composition of the government", stressed Nikolay Vassilev.
