“Unless the vaccination process is completed by the end of summer, there will be a new wave of the pandemic,” Minister of Health in the caretaker government Stoycho Katsarov stated at a briefing presenting the national Covid-19 response plan. “The worst-case scenario is a wave like the one we had at the end of last year and the beginning of this year,” Dr. Katsarov said.

The plan envisages 4 levels – green, yellow, red and dark red – a division based on different criteria, with concrete measures and reactions by the health authorities at every level. The plan will be sent out to all institutions so they will be ready to execute it if the need arises.

Kindergartens will only be closed if the highest level is reached but they will continue to function with vaccinated parents and vaccinated staff.
