"As the new director general of an institution that manages 11 radio programmes and six music groups and offers digital content in 10 languages, my highest priority has been to restore stability." This was stated in an interview with EBU by the Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio Andon Baltakov, who took office in January 2020 after a management crisis in the media.

Baltakov pointed out that among the languages in which BNR continues to present content, apart from Bulgarian, are English, Russian, German, Turkish, French, Albanian, Greek, Serbian, and Spanish.

"We are trying to update our Turkish-language broadcasts designed for the people who make up 10% of Bulgarian society," said the director general.

He pointed out that even in the conditions of cut funding and the coronavirus crisis, the radio continues to develop and seek new forms of content. Such a segment are the podcasts for which the foreign language departments of Radio Bulgaria are being prepared.
