Tour operators dissatisfied with the new entry regulations

Tour operators from Burgas insist that the scheme that allows entry for citizens of other countries according to the distribution of the countries in the Covid-19 red, orange and green zones be cancelled. In their view, this scheme would be relevant for the 2020 tourist season, but not for 2021, when vaccination has been under way. The new rules lead to less holidaymakers from traditional markets, travel agent Ivan Kiryazov said for BNR-Burgas. In his words, all EU member states are in the list of "green zone" countries for Covid-19 and all other countries are in the "orange" zone of the coronavirus map. Tour operators demand that the new scheme be abolished and that the previous regime be reintroduced which would allow tourists to enter the country with a vaccine certificate, EU digital Covid certificate, a document indicating that the tourist has had Covid-19, or a negative PCR test result.

Representatives of the tourism industry point out that some tourists have cancelled their bookings and made holiday reservations in places where they are not required to present test results, which makes holiday packages cheaper.
