Nearly half a century after the old church was blown up, people can once again hear the church bells ringing in the village of Evrenozovo, Malko Tarnovo municipality (southeastern Bulgaria). The church bells announced today the grand opening of a new church built in a period of 7 years with the help of donations.

The new church, named after the Holy Trinity, was consecrated by Bishop Hierotheus of Agathopolis.

The first festive liturgy in the village was served 90 years ago, when the old church was consecrated. Unfortunately, it was destroyed later in 1976 because it began to collapse. For all these 45 years, the residents of Evrenozovo have been left without a church, but thanks to a local initiative committee and funds from donors, the village already has a new Orthodox Christian church.

"Thousands of thanks for the people who helped, the whole village got involved. All of them showed us a small lesson in patriotism," said at the opening the mayor of Malko Tarnovo Ilian Yanchev.
