Members of the Sofia Municipal Council from Democratic Bulgaria coalition called on the institutions to investigate Miroslav Borshosh, Deputy Mayor of Sofia for Culture. The court has already acquitted the former director of the National Palace of Culture (NPC) who was accused of missapropriation of funds. The Municipal Councilors from Democratic Bulgaria call on the competent authorities to investigate how the former director of the NPC spent EUR 4.5 million euros from the reserve of the cultural center back in 2015.

The opposition at the Sofia Municipal Council contends that Borshosh is connected with Delyan Peevski, who was sanctioned by the United States under the Global Magnitsky Act. As a publisher of a newspaper and a website, Borshosh has sold his business to Peevski's media group twice, contend the municipal councilors from Democratic Bulgaria.
