The cause of the horrific mortality in Bulgaria during the coronavirus epidemic must be investigated, the caretaker Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov said in an interview for the BNR

"If illegal behavior is found in officials, they will be held accountable," he said. According to the minister, one of the mistakes that caused the sad consequences of the Covid-19 crisis was that the decisions were made by politicians.

According to him, the healthcare ministry is now being attacked by people who have brought the fight against the epidemic in Bulgaria to a complete disaster - the last in terms of vaccinations and number of people tested, the first in terms of mortality, the application of restrictive measures for political and election reasons.

"I want to return things to normalcy and to have the experts make the decisions," Dr. Stoycho Katsarov summed up the situation.
