The serious escalation of violence in Israel and the Palestinian territories has been the focus of a meeting between Prime Minister Stefan Yanev and Israeli Ambassador to Bulgaria Yoram Elron. PM Yanev pointed out that the military solution was not a real solution and called for an effective diplomatic approach. At this backdrop Bulgaria supports all diplomatic efforts at EU and UN level, as well as those of international partners aimed at de-escalation of tension. Yanev has welcomed the steps of Israel to reduce and prevent tensions and to guarantee freedom of religion in Jerusalem.
