On May 18, we celebrate International Museum Day, which was marked for the first time 43 years ago. The purpose of the festival is to promote the role of museums in the preservation and dissemination of culture and knowledge.

On the occassion of the International Museum Day, the Regional History Museum of Sofia has realized the 7th annual exhibition "Archeology of Sofia and Sofia Region".

The focus is on the most significant archeological discoveries of 2020. During the previous year archaeologists worked on unearthing the secrets of the early Neolithic settlement of Slatina-Sofia and the fortress "Kokalyanski Urvich" near the Bulgarian capital city.
