Mass vaccination of people employed at hotels and restaurants in Sunny Beach

People employed at large hotels and restaurants have been undergoing mass vaccination as Sunny Beach prepares to open to tourists on 1 June. A green corridor for vaccination against Covid-19 has been provided.
“We have not registered a single allergic reaction after the thousands of shots that have been administered,” said Dr. Stanko Chobanov, director of the clinic where the green corridor was opened, and added that a large part of the local population have already been vaccinated.  
Foreign nationals employed in the tourism sector can receive Covid-19 vaccines as well. For the purpose, they need to present an identity document.
More than 80 hotels in Sunny Beach have prepared lists of staff members willing to receive Covid-19 vaccines, announced Teodor Pastarmadzhiev, member of the managing board of the Union of Hotel Owners in Sunny Beach.

4.5% of Covid-19 tests in past day return positive result

506 is the number of newly registered cases of coronavirus infection in this country, according to the Single Coronavirus Information Portal. 4.5% of the 11,247 tests performed were positive. The number of newly infections in every Bulgarian districts is under 100. The highest number of new infections is in Sofia-city – 98, followed by the districts Plovdiv - 55, Varna - 41 and Veliko Tarnovo - 27.
The number of active Covid-19 cases is 36,124, while 5,114 patients are being treated in hospital. There are 516 patients in intensive care. 44 people with Covid-19 died in the past day. The number of recoveries is 2,853 or five times more than the number of new cases.
37,759 vaccines have been administered in the past 24 hours. A total of 387,980 people have already been vaccinated with two vaccine doses, 1,073,523 with at least one dose.

Vaccination continues following national plan, green corridors will be working over the weekend

At two of Sofia’s biggest hospitals, Pirogov and Alexandrovska hospital, the so-called green corridors – walk-in vaccination centres – will be working over the weekend with the vaccines Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna and Oxford/AstraZeneca. Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova wrote on Facebook that as of Monday, 17 May, green corridors will also open at eight of the municipal medical centres in Sofia.
