People between 40 and 49 years of age are the most active participants in vocational trainings (34%), according to a study commissioned by the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training. People aged 30 to 39 follow with 29%, while relatively low interest is shown by young people under 29 and people over 50.

According to 35% of respondents, additional training would improve their financial situation, while 18% hope to manage to keep their jobs. Nearly 80,000 Bulgarians have passed training last year and 20 percent of them received a certificate for a new profession.

"The times when training and education ended once you graduated are long gone,” outgoing Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said last night during the online Porto Social Summit. He pointed out that this country supports the goal for 2030 that 60% of the population should continue training every year.
