FIFA has invited Bulgarian Georgi Kabakov and his assistants Martin Margaritov and Diyan Valkov to be the referees at matches of the Olympic football tournament, which will be held in the period July 27 - August 7, 2021 in Japan.

This is a huge recognition for Kabakov and his team, as well as for the Bulgarian Football Union. After a pause of 29 years, Bulgaria will once again have a football referee at the Olympic Games. Before that, Lyube Spasov was referee of matches in Barcelona back in 1992, and Todor Bechirov - in Mexico in 1968, Dnevnik writes.
