Remembering 1906:

Bulgaria marks 115th anniversary of Bulgarian aviation

On this day in the distant 1906, a decree by Tsar Ferdinand marked the beginning of Bulgarian aviation through the establishment of the Aviation Department. The Bulgarian Aviation Museum calls attention to this fact.

Another important fact from the history of Bulgarian aviation is that Bulgarians flew in the sky for the first time back in 1892 when the French aviator Eugène Godard performed demonstration flights during the First International Exhibition in Plovdiv.
