Bulgaria's new Parliament to revise work of Boyko Borissov's government

Today's first regular sitting of the 45th National Assembly was expected to begin with a hearing of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov on the recovery and sustainability plan. Instead, however, Borissov announced that he was going on leave as serious work on preparing the new government had begun He said the Recovery and Sustainability Plan would be submitted to the National Assembly and MPs would have the opportunity to decide whether to accept it.


The agenda of today's parliamentary session includes the setting up of a commission for revision of the governance of Boyko Borissov's cabinet. The decision was made at yesterday's Council of Presidents in the National Assembly and was confirmed by the chairwoman of the group of "Stand up! Thugs out!" Maya Manolova.

The discussion of the first 3 committees in the new parliament - legal, health and budget committees - is also forthcoming.
