The prosecutor's office has announced that a criminal group for buying votes had been disclosed. The illegal organization operated from February 6th until the April 4th elections, spokesperson Sijka Mileva explained. The group was funded by a person outside the EU. He sent the money to Turkey, and from there it was transferred to the country by couriers.

The leader of the group is the owner of a cable TV, a gas station and a detergent factory in the Plovdiv region. Two other members of the group have held various political positions, and the third has had a strong influence in the country's Roma neighborhoods.

Three members of the criminal group remain in custody.
