“If Slavi Trifonov is 2,3,4,5 votes short for forming a cabinet he will get them from GERB so that Bulgaria shall not be plunged into political chaos,” Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev confirmed for Nota TV.

However, the “token support” for Slavi Trifonov’s party There is Such a People, which came second in the 4 April parliamentary elections, will not be “no matter what”.

“If someone does not want support they are not going to get it, there is no sense bringing unwanted gifts,” he commented. Deputy PM Donchev added that GERB, the party that came first in the elections, will try to form a government but that it was also ready to be in opposition. As to possible amendments to the constitution he stated that talks could be held with all political forces. Tomislav Donchev made mention of President Rumen Radev’s statement that he would submit a draft of a constitution to the next National Assembly. “Well, this is the next National Assembly,” Tomislav Donchev saId.
