The concessionaire of Sofia airport will not pay annual fees to the state for the duration of ten years.

The deferral of these payments was approved by the government with the motive that passenger traffic has decreased significantly due to the pandemic. Minister of Transport Rosen Zhelyazkov stated that the 10-year deferral could be reduced if the airport’s economic balance improves and added that the initial 330 million euro fee, provided for in the concession contract will will be paid into the state budget as early as this month.
