Victor Stoyanov from Bulgaria, author of the initiative “Send a Bulgarian book to Macedonia” took 920 prototype copes of the book “Bulgarian folk songs” published by 1861 by the Miladinov brothers over the border into the Republic of North Macedonia, Trud newspaper writes.

The van with the donated books crossed the border without problem and reached the Bulgarian Cultural Information Centre in Skopje. Part of the books will be taken to the Bulgarians in Bitola, Prilep and Strumica.

On 27 March Stoyanov was stopped at the border with North Macedonia because of the books he was transporting but after the subsequent reaction by the Bulgarian authorities he was allowed to enter North Macedonia with the books.
