Bulgarian scientists are testing anti-Covid medications based on antibodies obtained from animal colostrum. They will be for topical use – on the oral and nasal mucous membrane, Assoc. Dr. Wolfgang Gerhard Lupke said for BTA.

He added that vaccination is applicable to healthy people, for people who are sick and for medical staff who are at risk it is better to apply antibodies which offer protection against complications.

Treatment of this kind has already been tested with animals infected with coronavirus and has stopped the progress of the disease after one week. Preparations are underway for the production of the medication in close cooperation with the Institutes of Microbiology and of Cryobiology of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
