Bulgarian Dillan Krasteff, a NYPD police officer in the United States, has been hailed as a hero in New York City.

Krasteff was patrolling the Brooklyn Bridge when a woman rushed to him in panic. She explained through tears that her baby was not breathing. Krastev immediately administered artificial respiration to the 3-month-old boy, who was unconscious after choking on milk. During this time, his partner called an ambulance. The timely actions of the police officer saved the child's life.

"He is our angel," the baby's relatives said about Krasteff in a television interview.

Dilian Krasteff emigrated to the United States in 1999 and has been a police officer since 2012. He is a member of the Bulgarian-American Police Association, BNT reported
