"The strength of the EU is not only in the free movement of people, goods, services and capital, but above all in the free exchange of ideas, spirituality and culture," Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with Viktor Stoyanov, founder of the civil initiative "Send a Bulgarian book to Macedonia".

The president expressed hope that the leadership of North Macedonia, which demonstrates its commitment to EU membership, would be "more open and tolerant of our common historical and cultural heritage."

Radev donated books for the initiative and said the presidency was ready to become a patron of the campaign.

Viktor Stoyanov thanked and shared that Bulgarians living in Europe, the USA and Canada are also showing mass interest in donating books for the Bulgarians in North Macedonia.
