“A worsening of relations with Russia in no way benefits the citizens of Bulgaria,” Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated for the BNR. In her words some Bulgarian politicians are making use of the subject of espionage to serve their own agenda.

“Bulgarians should ask these so-called politicians: by undermining bilateral relations with Russia are they doing any good despite their claims that they are working for the benefit of the Bulgarian people," Maria Zakharova said at her regular weekly briefing.
