MEPs criticize Bulgaria over North Macedonia

On March 24 and 25, the European Parliament will vote on its annual report on North Macedonia. MEPs from the Progressive Alliance and the Greens have amended the European Parliament's annual report on North Macedonia. In them, representatives of the Bulgarian government are accused of "provocative statements on historical issues affecting Skopje. Bulgarian authorities are urged to refrain from such statements," the BNR's Horizon channel reported.

Bulgarian MEPs are expected to vote against the proposed amendments, which contain expressions unacceptable to Bulgaria, BGNES reported, citing MEPs with whom the agency has spoken.
