President Rumen Radev called for a prompt reaction by the responsible institutions in Bulgaria and in North Macedonia to reports by our compatriots in the Republic of North Macedonia of significant problems they are faced with. The position of the Bulgarian head of state is motivated by a letter sent by ethnic Bulgarians in which they express concern over their ongoing discrimination.

Rumen Radev urges the Bulgarian institutions to facilitate the procedures for acquisition of Bulgarian citizenship, and the institutions in the Republic of North Macedonia to guarantee the right of our fellow countrymen to self-determination as Bulgarian in origin in accordance with the principles of international law.
