Minister Zaharieva participates in the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels

On February 22, Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva participates in the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will brief the ministers on the results of his visit to Moscow. 

The United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to join the meeting by video conference in the afternoon, for an exchange of views on the EU-USA relations and the Covid-19 crisis. The EU Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Antony Blinken will also discuss foreign policy issues, as well as security and defense cooperation between the EU and the USA. Ministers will also exchange views on the Strategic Compass- the EU initiative which aims to strengthen a common European security and defense culture.
