President presents awards to prominent Bulgarians

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has presented high state awards to prominent Bulgarians in the fields of medicine, science and education.

Prof. Dr. Nikola Vladov and Prof. Dr. Georgi Todorov have received the Stara Planina Order for their achievements in medicine. The Stara Planina Order was also bestowed to Prof. Ivan Nichev for his outstanding contribution in the field of cinema, to Prof. D-r Angel Dimitrov for developing the relations of Bulgaria with Western Balkan countries. to Prof. Ivaylo Znepolski for exceptional contribution in the field of culture and humanitarian science.

Historian Prof. Plamen Pavlov received the Order of "Sts. Cyril and Methodius”. Atanasia Stoianova received the same order for her great merits in the sphere of education of the Bulgarian minority in her native Moldova. The "Sts. Cyril and Methodius Order" was also given out to Prof. Vera Naydenova for her contribution to Bulgaria's national film art and culture, to actor Rusi Chanel and poet Ivan Balabanov.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Oscar was awarded the Order of Civil Merit for his merits in strengthening the civic society.

On behalf of the winners, Prof. Plamen Pavlov pointed out that they all share the same life mission - healing the body and soul of the Bulgarian people. He called for unity among Bulgarians in the country and abroad.
