The nationalist political party VMRO has officially announced that it is leaving the United Patriots coalition and will run in the parliamentary elections on its own. The decision is not due to a conflict with its partners, party members announced.
"We have a vision for the development of the patriotic movement, which we must continue on our own," said the party's organizational secretary, Julian Angelov. VMRO reminded that they had sent two MEPs to the European Parliament after running in the elections on their own.
In the current Bulgarian parliament, the VMRO party is part of the United Patriots coalition composed of NFSB, Ataka and VMRO. The coalition is currently represented in parliament by 21 deputies.
