Bulgaria has gained a reputation as an attractive digital hub thanks to its technological talents. It is among the countries with the largest number of women working in the field of information technology. We have a real chance to become a European start-up centre in the field of artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. This was said by the European Commissioner for Innovation and Research, Mariya Gabriel, at the opening of the first session for 2021 of the new Economic and Social Council, BTA reported.

At the end of 2020, Bulgaria emerged as a potential EU leader in cutting-edge technology with 47 start-ups in the field of artificial intelligence, Gabriel added.
