The candidates for director-general of the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) have presented their concepts to the National Assembly Committee on Culture and the Media.

According to Kiril Valchev’s concept, BTA should develop a network of part-time associates in Bulgarian communities abroad and open correspondent bureaus in neighboring countries, starting from Skopje. English, German, French, Russian, Greek, Serbian, Turkish and Romanian are the working languages of BTA at present and Kiril Valchev is planning to add Spanish, Arabic and Chinese to them.

Ivaylo Danailov also intends to develop a network of correspondents abroad. Now, BTA has a correspondent in Brussels only. Danailov agrees that this is an expensive undertaking, but wants to start with a correspondent in Belgrade, Dnevnik informs.
