Illegal cryptocurrency farm intercepted near Sofia

The company for electricity supply and distribution CEZ has revealed the largest electricity theft in its history. Due to registered anomalies of electricity consumption in the area of ​​the village of Herakovo, Sofia region, teams of the power supply company, together with Bulgaria’s Police, found an illegal cryptocurrency farm in a local farm building. 

Transformers which served over 1000 computer configurations used for mining cryptocurrency were installed in the room. According to initial estimates, the electricity theft approximately equals the monthly electricity consumption of 4,250 Bulgarian families.
