Most esteemed children’s art school in Pleven turns 30

Over the space of thirty years the young artists from “Kolorit” art school in Pleven have won over 7,000 prizes – gold, silver and bronze medals, awards and certificates from competitions in more than 30 countries, artist Maya Ananieva, head of the art school says.

The number of solo exhibitions they have mounted is in excess of 200, with 60 of them having been organized at prestigious galleries, museums and embassies in different countries.


“Hundreds of the children from the art school, who went on to graduate from universities in this country and abroad, have made a name for themselves as artists,” Ananieva adds, as quoted by the BTA.

Drawings by the children from “Kolorit” have been included in the UNICEF calendar, andone child’s drawing is printed in a fine arts textbook in Japan. To mark its birthday “Kolorit” is presenting an online exhibition of children’s drawings.
