Bulgarian agriculture has an opportunity to be included in the Recovery and Sustainability Plan, Bulgarian Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva said during a videoconference public discussion on the second pillar of the National Plan for Reconstruction and Sustainability "Green Bulgaria". Taneva pointed out that the direct effect of the plan was objective control over the management systems of measures to support the sector.

According to Minister Taneva, after the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy for the new programming period, which is shaped as a green transition, there will be more funds for landscaping and environmentally friendly food, which consumers are looking for.
Thanks to two projects "Digital Agriculture" and "Improvement of the condition and modernization of the hydro-ameliorative infrastructure", a qualitatively new leap in the management and development of Bulgarian agriculture will be made. The first envisages the creation of a comprehensive electronic information system in agriculture, as well as tools for access to spatial data and registers. The second aims at the restoration and modernization of irrigation systems in Bulgaria, which will lead to an increase in agricultural land and up to 75% water savings.
