The Bulgarian Parliament has approved the government's proposal to include Bulgaria in EU agreements for the purchase of vaccines against Covid-19.

The vaccine will not be included in the immunization calendar of Bulgaria. It will be administered only after the informed consent of the patient, Minister of Health Kostadin Angelov has told the Parliament, BTA reported.

With changes to the Health Act, the Minister received the right to introduce mandatory isolation of contagious patients and mandatory quarantine of contact persons. Violators of the quarantine will be fined 2,500 euros. In the event of a state of emergency or epidemic, the Minister could temporarily ban the export of medicines.
